Pennsylvania vehicle registration is the step that puts legal plates on your car. For a private sale, bring the original title signed over to you by the seller. For a dealer purchase, the dealer usually issues the paperwork and a temporary tag. For a vehicle coming from another state, plan for a VIN verification and, if the lender still holds the title, a lien release or the lender's title information.
